At this moment in the 21st century,we are all keenly aware of the break-neck pace of technology in our industry.Virtual imaging accelerates the design process;engineering software facilitates 3-D model making;3-D printing creates models in a fraction of the time needed by a craftsman.Even the vocabulary we use to describe manufacturing has changed-"…terms such as ‘CAD modeling’, ‘sintering’ and ‘CNC milling’ sit comfortably alongside ‘carving’, ‘casting’,and ‘lathing’ as the vernacular of the modern toolkit."¹.In this paper,the author described the ideas and realizations in the latest course development in the Fashion Institute of Technology.
