Turquoise Jewelry Design Based on Modern Life Aesthetic: Take Turquoise from Zhushan, Hubei Province as An Example

It is rich in turquoise resources in Zhushan County, Shiyan City, Hubei Province. An in-depth investigation on the culture, producing area, market, products and technology of turquoise in Zhushan was carried out. It was found that there are some problems in the turquoise market in Zhushan, such as the homogeneity in products, the lagging behind technology and the low level of artistic creation. Therefore, the authors explored the methods to take advantages of turquoise resource in Zhushan, Hubei Province, to integrate modern life aesthetic into the design of turquoise jewelry from the aspects of culture and design, design and life, people and objects; and to combine traditional culture with modern life. In addition, from the aesthetic characteristics of turquoise, the authors further explored the beauty of colour, the beauty in form and the beauty of artistic conception from turquoise. This paper aimed to present the rich beauty and culture of turquoise to the public, and enhance the cultural value, artistic value and emotional value of turquoise jewelry. It gives the culture a design power, which can promote the innovation and development of turquoise industry, and bring a beautiful human life.
